Easy one this time.  You know how you see people swinging big dumbbells around and using every bit of their body to lift them?  Yea it happens.  This does next to nothing to challenge the entire range of your muscle.  Although you might feel a little bit of a burn and you look really cool lugging around a 60 pound dumbell, you're wasting your time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To really add on muscle, do your workouts correctly.  Only move the muscle group that is being targeted.  No momentum at all should be put into the equation.  Go slowly and move the muscle as far as it can go.  No cheating.  If you have to lift less weight (you will) then do so. Your muscles are starving for carbs and protein to feed them for growth.  You have about an hour window to pump them full of these muscle builders while the fibers are still broken down.  This will help immensely with your gains and will also help refuel you. You promised yourself you were going to get in shape this year right?  So what's stopping you?  You don't know where to start?  You don't think you can do it?  You don't have the motivation? Can't find a good skinny guy workout?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Believe me, you're not alone.  There are tons of folks out there that are in the same situation as you.  They have absolutely no idea what they're doing. You can score a good starter set for about $70.  These will last you for life.  Honestly I would recommend a gym, but if you don't have one that is convenient, dumbbells work fine from home.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now what you'll need to do is &lt;a href="http://www.my-linker.com/hop/skinny_guy_workout"&gt;iron out a plan&lt;/a&gt;.  Write your goals down on paper so you're committed to them.  Tell your friends that you're getting in shape.  Recruit a support group to do it with you.  It's a lot easier with help along the way.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Get started off with your basic exercises such as squats, rows, flys, and curls.  We'll get into some more advanced techniques down the road.  Check back often.
